Meeting of experts held in Sofia, Bulgaria, from 17th to 19th of June 2015

Meeting of experts held in Sofia, Bulgaria, from 17th to 19th of June 2015, within the project: HOME/2012/ISEC/ FP/ C2 /4000003996 - "Children - potential victims of crime on internet".

This activity was attended by experts from:

  • Romania - a representative of the International Agency for Crime Prevention and Security Policy (IACPSP) and a prosecutor from the Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIOCT)/Public Ministry
  • Bulgaria - specialists from the General Directorate for Countering Organized Crime/ Ministry of Interior.

 

The main objective of this meeting was to elaborate a document containing topics, ideas and best practices for organizing some training on countering crimes referring to the children’ sexual abuse through the internet..

 

During these three days there were addressed the following topics of interest:

  1. Relevant issues regarding the activities performed by the cybercrime departments from Romania and Bulgaria, partners in the project, in the field approached by the project.
  2. The transposition of Directive 92/2011 (called "Directive against child abusing") and of the provisions regarding the collection and exchange of data between Bulgaria and Romania in the field of the project.
  3. Blocking modalities against the access of children to internet in order to prevent the children’ sexual abuse using internet.
  4. Investigation P2P in networks as: Gnutella, Ares and eMule.
  5. Investigations GigaTribe.
  6. Identification of victims and maintaining national databases.

 

During this meeting the experts established some measures in order to successfully implement the activities deployed within this project, aimed to strengthen the collaboration between the directorates for countering the organized criminality and the cybercrime units from Romania, Bulgaria and Malta, co - partners countries in this project, in order to counter child pornography and children sexual abuse through internet.
